| what's the world coming to?!?!?! For once in the longest time, my dad had bought Oreos. As usual, me being bored of having meat-packed sandwiches for breakfast, I tried my best to get a sugar-packed breakfast instead. AKA Oreo cookie sugar rush!!! I opened the box of Oreos (wholesale from Costco) to find 10 long plastic-wrapped rolls of Oreos. I was in heaven. Grab my milk, open a package of Oreos, sit down at the table. I was ready for breakfast. I take the first Oreo. Twist it, "Oh wow, it came ut perfect!" all the frosting on one side, none on the other. Rare to get but not that big of a deal, I've done it before. Hehe, smiling to myself at my awesome Oreo-twisting skillz, I dunk the frosting-less side of the cookie in milk. Wait for it to get soggy, chomp. Scrape off the frosting from the other side, dunk, eat. They seemed to get soft a lot faster nowadays. Oh well, yum yum same old Oreos. Or so I thought. Second Oreo... twist. perfect again. oh wow, I'm good. Third Oreo... twist, again perfect. WHAT?!?!?!?! There's something seriously wrong here. This is a mistake, this can't be right. Since when can people always twist off the Oreos perfectly? And three in a row? That's unheard of!! AAahhhhh. Okay, I say to myself, this is just a coincidence, there's nothing wrong here. I just improved my Oreo-twisting technique, that's all. I must prove that they have not changed. They are still the same old Oreos as before. I won't stop til I prove this right. Oreo number 4: PERFECT AGAIN! NNNNNnnnnoooOOOOOooooo!!!!!!! The world is coming to an end!!! Where has all the fun gone in eating Oreos? The whole point of eating Oreos is that they never come out perfectly when you twist them, and now 4 in a row?!!?!?! What have the manufacturers done to them? In just maybe 2 years or so, oreos have lost all the excitement. It's too easy to break em apart. augh, no fun at all! How will future generations enjoy the complexity and the technique involved to twisting the Oreo correctly? Sad and downhearted, I grabbed another Oreo. Twist. Slowly looking down, the frosting is spread onto both sides. I smile for a little while, but it's not enough. Four in a row. Perfect, all of them. I will never look at Oreos the same way again. What happened to the Oreos I used to love? |
